Care and Feeding of Blogs
Blogs need care and feeding. One person told me that if you are going to do a blog you need to post every day. Ok so this blog needs some emergency food before it dies. I honestly find it tough to keep thinking of interesting things to post on my blog or to write in my e-newsletter. It’s a lot easier to write e-newsletters for my clients than to write them for myself.
I do some work with arts organizations and more and more of them seem to be blogging now. The Arts and Business Council of Chicago has sponsored a pilot project called Chicago Classical Music that includes event listings, a forum, and blog postings. They have a graduate student who makes sure that the blog gets the care and feeding and daily updates it needs. Check it out at Chicagoclassicalmusic.org. Some of the most dynamic arts content around is in arts blogs rather than in reviews in mainstream newspapers etc…

Oh and if you have a blog, make sure to claim it on Technorati.com. I had heard of Technorati before but didn’t honestly know what it was about. Essentially technorati is google of the blogosphere. When I claimed my blog and saw that it was ranked 281.328 it made me realize how many people are blogging – wow! So now I have 20 links to my blog from 10 websites. Guess my ranking could move up if more people linked to my blog. Did you find anything interesting here? Please link to it.
