Email and Websites for Events

The latest edition of the Guidestar e-newsletter has an excellent article about using e-mail and the web for events. A few suggestions the authors provided which I especially liked were:

  • Remember to use language that encourages people to donate even if they can’t attend the event.
  • Encourage board members, volunteers, and other friends of your organization to forward the e-mail invitation to their friends, post info about your event in chat rooms etc…
  • Use an online survey to survey event attendees after the event about how you can make it even better next year.
