Grow Your Email List
I just read a great article on email list building in DM News. It talks about the fact that growing your list from 1,000 – 10,000 names will make a much bigger difference than focusing on how you can tweak content to get a 3% click through rate instead of a 2% click through rate. The author says you should have measurable goals and even put a chart on the wall and celebrate as you meet each goal — just as you would with a fundraising campaign. And, a point I thought was really important, was that you need to get the whole team on board. Growing the e-mail list is not just the job of the marketing dept or the development office — it’s everyone’s job!
