Internet Stats
I read an article in the Chicago Tribune recently that I found very interesting. It said that in 1998 Forrester Research, a technology research firm, issued projections for Internet sales in 2003 and most were very close to the actual results. Their data didn’t include online auctions or online fundraising which I would really like to have seen, but here are a few of their stats:
Online leisure travel bookings
Predicted – $29.4 billion
Actual through Nov. 2003 – $25.5 billion
Prediction for 2008 – $53 billion
Online Book Sales
Predicted – $3 billion
Actual through Nov. 2003 – $2.6 billion
Prediction for 2008 – $5.5 billion
